Juventus are working intensively to reduce the size of Luciano Spalletti’s squad, with several players who featured during Saturday’s friendly against Basel now appearing increasingly likely to leave the club in the coming days.

The Bianconeri’s priority is to secure permanent transfers whenever possible, allowing the club to generate funds that can be reinvested into the market to strengthen the squad.

According to Nicolò Schira, Juventus’ management is focused on finding solutions for players who are no longer considered part of Spalletti’s plans.

The objective is clear: raise important resources through departures and give the coach from Certaldo a more competitive squad ahead of the new season.

Cabal, Rugani and Joao Mario: Juventus working on possible departures

The defensive department could experience major changes, with at least three players from the back line used against Basel expected to leave Continassa soon.

One of the names attracting attention is Juan Cabal. The Colombian defender has received interest from abroad, especially from Besiktas, with negotiations ongoing to find the right formula.

The Turkish club is pushing to bring the former Verona player to Istanbul, while Juventus are evaluating the best possible agreement.

The ideal solution could be a paid loan with an option to buy, which could become mandatory if certain conditions are met, such as a specific number of appearances or Besiktas qualifying for the Champions League.

Talks are underway and an agreement could potentially be reached within the next few days.

Another defender whose future appears increasingly distant from Juventus is Daniele Rugani.

The experienced centre-back has attracted interest both abroad and from Serie A clubs, with Monza and Bologna among the teams that have already made enquiries.

The 1994-born defender represents a reliable option for teams looking for experience and defensive stability. After Fiorentina decided not to activate the obligation to buy him permanently, initial contacts have started with other clubs interested in offering him a more important role.

Rugani was just one appearance away from becoming a Fiorentina player on a permanent basis, a scenario that would have guaranteed Juventus around €2 million and a small capital gain.

However, the Viola deliberately limited his appearances and ultimately chose not to complete the transfer.

Fiorentina pushing again for Joao Mario

Meanwhile, another Juventus player who could leave is Joao Mario. Fiorentina are monitoring the Portuguese full-back as they prepare for possible departures of Dodô and Nicolò Fortini.

According to Nicolò Schira, Fiorentina sporting director Fabio Paratici is ready to return for a player he has admired for a long time.

Joao Mario, however, does not appear to be part of Spalletti’s plans, having already been sent on loan to Bologna in January after failing to convince the Juventus coach.

The Tuscan club is now preparing an offer based on a paid loan with an option to buy, while Juventus would prefer a deal including an obligation to purchase.

The two clubs still need to find the right agreement, but there is optimism that a solution can be reached.
