Juventus works to sign another midfielder after Sarr

Juventus have closed a deal for Tottenham midfielder Pape Matar Sarr, but the Bianconeri could still make another move in midfield before the transfer window closes.

According to Sportmediaset, Juventus are considering another midfielder because of the uncertainty surrounding Khephren Thuram’s physical condition.

If the Frenchman ultimately decides to undergo surgery, he could face a lengthy spell on the sidelines, potentially forcing Juventus to act quickly and add another option to Luciano Spalletti’s squad.

With little time remaining in the transfer window, Juventus are reportedly looking for a last-minute signing that would not require a major financial investment. Three names have emerged on the radar of sporting director and CEO Giovanni Carnevali.

Hojbjerg Leads the List as Juventus Explore Affordable Options

One of the most experienced options under consideration is Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg. The 1995-born Denmark international currently plays for Marseille and could become available because his salary has reportedly become increasingly difficult for the French club to sustain.

From a sporting perspective, however, Hojbjerg remains an important player for Marseille. His experience, physical presence and ability to provide balance in midfield make him a valuable part of the squad, meaning OM would not be particularly keen on letting him leave.

This is where Juventus could face their biggest obstacle. The Bianconeri are reportedly proposing a loan deal with an option to buy, but Marseille would prefer a different solution and are reluctant to accept such a formula.

The other two names on Juventus’ list are Bakola of Sassuolo and Guido Rodriguez of Valencia.

Bakola is highly rated by Sassuolo, who consider him a player with significant potential and are therefore unwilling to discuss his departure at this stage. That makes negotiations extremely complicated for Juventus.

Rodriguez, meanwhile, is currently sidelined with an injury. His return is expected in approximately two to three weeks, another factor that could make the Valencia midfielder a less straightforward option for a team looking for immediate cover.

With Sarr seemingly close, Juventus could now make one final midfield assessment before deciding whether another addition is necessary.
