The final day of the summer transfer window are shaping up to be particularly intense for Juventus, with the club once again turning its attention towards Marseille.

According to TuttoJuve, the Bianconeri have officially reopened the possibility of signing Pierre-Emile Højbjerg, as the club looks to make a late push for the experienced Danish midfielder.

Juventus are reportedly working hard behind the scenes in an attempt to reach an agreement with Olympique Marseille before the transfer window closes.

The operation is far from straightforward, but there are factors that could potentially work in the Italian club’s favour.

Marseille Could Be Forced Into a Sale

One of the key elements is Marseille’s financial situation. The French side are reportedly looking to reduce their wage bill while also generating capital gains before the transfer window shuts. As a result, the club could be prepared to part ways with some of its established players.

Højbjerg could therefore become one of the names sacrificed as Marseille attempt to balance their finances. The former Tottenham midfielder is considered a potential departure, following the recent exit of Leonardo Balerdi, who has already completed a move to Roma.

For Juventus, interest in Højbjerg is anything but new. The Turin giants have explored the possibility of signing the Denmark international during previous transfer windows, although their approaches were met with resistance from Marseille.

Juventus Preparing a Late Midfield Push

The renewed interest at this stage of the market could prove particularly significant. Juventus are looking to strengthen Luciano Spalletti’s midfield options and are continuing to evaluate opportunities that could become available in the final hours of the window.

The situation is also intriguing because Juventus could simultaneously welcome Pape Matar Sarr to Turin as another reinforcement for the midfield. Should both operations progress, the Bianconeri would significantly increase their options in the middle of the pitch.

With the clock ticking and Marseille facing financial pressure, Juventus could now attempt one final push for Højbjerg. The coming hours could determine whether the long-standing interest finally turns into a concrete agreement.
