Juventus are continuing to work against the clock to complete Luciano Spalletti’s squad, with the left-back position emerging as one of the areas the club could still strengthen before the transfer window closes.

According to Corriere dello Sport, the Bianconeri have identified two experienced options currently playing in Ligue 1: Nicolas Tagliafico of Lyon and Emerson Palmieri of Marseille.

Both players could provide Juventus with experience and reliability on the left flank, but there appears to be a clear preference within the club.

Tagliafico Emerges as Juventus’ First Choice

Tagliafico is reportedly the leading candidate for Juventus. The Argentine international, born in 1992, is considered an attractive option thanks to his experience at the highest level and his ability to contribute both defensively and going forward.

More importantly, the player is understood to have already shown his appreciation for the possibility of moving to Turin. That could prove significant as Juventus attempt to accelerate negotiations during the final hours of the transfer window.

The main task now would be reaching an agreement with Lyon. While negotiations could be complicated by the limited time remaining, the operation is not considered impossible, particularly if all parties are willing to find a solution quickly.

Emerson Palmieri Remains the Alternative

Emerson Palmieri remains Juventus’ alternative should the Tagliafico deal fail to materialise. The Italian-Brazilian defender, born in 1994, is reportedly available for a transfer, meaning Marseille could be open to discussions.

The potential move would also have an interesting personal angle, as Palmieri has previously worked with Spalletti and therefore already knows the coach’s methods and demands. That familiarity could make him an appealing option for Juventus as they look for a player capable of adapting quickly.

However, Juventus are not the only club monitoring his situation. Santos, the Brazilian club where Palmieri began his professional career, are also reportedly showing interest.

With the transfer deadline approaching, Juventus must now decide whether to push for their preferred option in Tagliafico or turn to Palmieri as a proven alternative.
