Ravanelli : “Juventus must sign those 2 players …”

Guest of honour on Tuttosport’s “Aperimercato” format, former Juventus striker Fabrizio Ravanelli analysed the club’s current situation from every angle, discussing the work of the Carnevali-Massara duo and the tactical prospects under manager Luciano Spalletti.

The former Bianconeri forward focused on Juventus’ recent signings and the importance of bringing in players who genuinely want to wear the shirt. Ravanelli fully approved of the club’s first moves:

“They are two players with quality who strongly wanted Juventus, and that is an important starting point. The club needs to go back to signing players who truly want Juve and are not only focused on their contract”.

“When you join a team you really want to play for, you start with a higher level of motivation, especially psychologically and in terms of enthusiasm. These two players can make an important contribution. I believe Juventus can gradually build a team that entertains the fans. They are working very well.”

Ravanelli: “Alajbegovic reminds me of the old Juventus, Lucumì and Hernandez would make Juve competitive”.

Ravanelli was particularly impressed by the signing of Kerim Alajbegović, praising the club’s long-term vision:

“It reminds me of the Juventus of the past, the signings made by Boniperti when he brought in players like me, Del Piero, Di Livio and Torricelli. This is an important signing that, in my opinion, can shape Juventus’ future, together with Yildiz and many other players who have the quality to stay at the club for many years.”

“He has shown quality and speed. He can play in Spalletti’s 4-2-3-1 system but also in a 4-3-3. In the attacking midfield role, he can play on both wings or behind the striker, and he also scores goals: last season he registered 13 goals and 4 assists.”

“For me, it is a great signing. Juventus did something nobody expected. Even I did not expect this move, and I believe it has brought huge enthusiasm back to the fans.”

Looking ahead at Juventus’ remaining transfer targets, Ravanelli highlighted the importance of strengthening the defence and the wings. He believes adding Jhon Lucumí and Theo Hernández could significantly raise the team’s level:

“If we manage to sign Lucumì, who is the defender I expect to arrive, I can imagine a strong goalkeeper behind a Lucumì-Bremer partnership, with Kalulu on the right and maybe Hernandez on the left. At that point, Juventus would really start causing problems for opponents”.

“Hernandez, also because of his desire for revenge after his time at Milan, I would sign immediately. Under Spalletti, I am convinced he could give us a lot.”

Regarding another possible target, Ravanelli added:

“I still believe the Pellegrino option is being kept alive because Juventus know there could be an opening with Parma at any moment. The relationship with Federico Cherubini is excellent, and I think there is a preferential route for the Bianconeri.”

On the goalkeeper situation, Ravanelli revealed his preferred choices:

“Among the names mentioned, honestly, the one I like most is Suzuki. However, if Dibu Martinez does not arrive, I would go for Benfica goalkeeper Trubin. I really like him, and he could have a great future at Juventus.”

“I don’t know if he has ever been on Juventus’ radar, but there are not many top goalkeepers available and even the biggest clubs are struggling to find elite options. I like him a lot. Among the names currently circulating, though, I prefer Suzuki.”

Ravanelli’s words underline the growing optimism around Juventus’ new project, with the former striker convinced that the club is building a squad capable of returning to compete at the highest level.
