Juventus have officially entered the hunt for Sporting CP’s standout striker Viktor Gyökeres, whose form has dazzled across two impressive seasons in Portugal.

The 26-year-old Swede, who netted a remarkable 54 goals in 52 matches during the 2024/25 campaign, is now one of Europe’s most sought-after forwards.

The Bianconeri are set to compete with English heavyweights Manchester United and Arsenal, according to reports from Fabrizio Romano.

Though Juventus haven’t begun formal negotiations yet. But Sporting CP’s asking price is reportedly between €65M and €70M. But with potential flexibility in the payment structure.

While the previous Juventus management scouted Gyökeres closely, current sporting director Cristiano Giuntoli had also shown interest before his recent dismissal.

Despite the shake-up at boardroom level, Juventus continue to explore their options in attack. And remain alert to the Swedish striker international’s availability.

Manchester United appear the most committed. With manager Rúben Amorim — Gyökeres’ former coach — keen to reunite with his prolific former player. Arsenal are also monitoring the situation, though their preference currently leans toward RB Leipzig’s Benjamin Šeško.

Meanwhile, Man United are keeping tabs on Napoli’s Victor Osimhen as an alternative. Despite his decision to reject a lucrative move to Al-Hilal.
Reports suggest Joshua Zirkzee could be included in a swap deal for the Nigerian striker.

Juve’s next steps unclear

Juventus may have to offload Dusan Vlahović before committing financially to Gyökeres or Osimhen, adding complexity to their pursuit.

With Champions League football a key factor for players, Juve might face an uphill battle competing with Premier League clubs in terms of both finances and appeal.

Still, if Gyökeres seeks a central role and consistent game time in a competitive team, Juventus might remain a viable and attractive destination.
