Juventus accelerate for Stiller

Juventus are determined not to waste time. With the upcoming Club World Cup potentially inflating transfer values and triggering a bidding war among Europe’s elite, the Italian giants are preparing an early move to secure Angelo Stiller.

According to Nico Schira, the Bianconeri are expected to assess the conditions for a decisive approach toward the Stuttgart midfielder by the end of May.

Stiller, currently at VfB Stuttgart, has been closely monitored by Juventus scouts in recent months and has consistently impressed.

Internally, there is growing belief that the German international possesses the technical quality and tactical intelligence needed to bring balance and creativity to the midfield—attributes long sought to elevate the team’s playmaking structure.

A Strategic Opportunity Before the Price Rises

A key factor behind Juventus’ urgency is Stiller’s €36.5 million release clause, which is viewed as relatively affordable in today’s inflated transfer market.

However, this window of opportunity may not last. Stuttgart retain the option to remove the clause for the summer by paying the player a €2 million compensation fee—an action that would likely push his valuation into the €50–60 million range.

That figure aligns with what Stuttgart reportedly demanded from Real Madrid last year, when the Spanish giants showed interest following a recommendation from club legend Toni Kroos, who even identified Stiller as a potential successor.

Despite the strong endorsement, then-coach Xabi Alonso opted to pursue alternative options, halting what seemed like a natural move.

Premier League Threat and Juventus’ Early Approach

Juventus are not alone in the race. Interest from the Premier League could complicate matters significantly.

Manchester United, in particular, are in search of midfield reinforcements. While their primary targets remain Sandro Tonali and Carlos Baleba, Stiller is still highly regarded at Old Trafford.

Juventus are aware that competing financially with English clubs is challenging, which is why they are pushing to act early. Initial contacts with Stiller’s representatives date back to mid-February, underlining how long the Turin club has been planning this move.

The German midfielder now has a chance to further boost his stock on May 23, when Stuttgart face the Bundesliga champions in the DFB-Pokal final.

It could mark the perfect farewell—lifting a trophy before stepping onto the global stage and potentially earning a move to a top European club. Juventus hope to be that destination, betting that Stiller could be the key figure to elevate their midfield and ambitions next season.
