Chelsea and Juventus will continue their preparations for the upcoming season when they meet in a highly anticipated preseason friendly at the Kai Tak Stadium in Hong Kong on Wednesday from 13:30, Italy time.

With the new campaign just weeks away, both European giants will use the clash as an important test to evaluate their squads, tactics and new signings.

Chelsea arrive in Asia after beginning their preseason tour in Australia under new head coach Xabi Alonso.

The Blues have already played two matches, producing an entertaining 6-4 victory over Western Sydney Wanderers in their opening fixture, with João Pedro scoring a memorable hat-trick.

However, their second game ended in disappointment as they suffered a 2-1 defeat against Tottenham Hotspur, conceding Richarlison’s late winner with the final kick of the match despite Spurs playing with ten men.

Juventus, meanwhile, have already completed three friendly matches in Europe before travelling to Asia, where they will also face Inter Milan in Perth on Saturday.

Luciano Spalletti’s team started their preseason campaign with a goalless draw against Basel, before recording victories over Standard Liege (1-0) and OGC Nice (2-0) in Turin.

Team News and Injury Updates

Chelsea will be without several important players for the meeting with Juventus. Captain Reece James, new signing Valentín Barco, midfielder Enzo Fernández, and defenders Malo Gusto and Trevoh Chalobah remain unavailable as they continue their recovery period following their involvement in the recent World Cup.

Mykhailo Mudryk will join the squad in Hong Kong after his doping suspension was revoked this week. Jamie Gittens and Romeo Lavia are also doubts after picking up minor knocks, with Chelsea expected to avoid unnecessary risks during preseason.

Juventus arrive in Hong Kong with almost their complete squad available. New arrivals Kerim Alajbegovic and Randal Kolo Muani have both been included in the travelling group and could play important roles during the tour.

For Luciano Spalletti, the match against Chelsea represents another opportunity to improve tactical understanding and assess his options ahead of the competitive season.

The striker position remains one of the main areas of focus, with Kolo Muani and Arkadiusz Milik expected to compete for a starting role.
