Why Juventus has chosen Alajbegovic

Juventus see Kerim Alajbegovic as one of the brightest young talents in European football, and there are several reasons why the club decided to invest €30 million plus bonuses to bring the Bosnian teenager from Bayer Leverkusen to Turin.

According to Giovanni Albanese, the Bianconeri believe the 2007-born attacking talent has everything required to become a key figure in the club’s long-term project.

The first reason behind the move is purely technical. Alajbegovic is comfortable with both feet, possesses outstanding technical ability, and has the versatility to fit seamlessly alongside Juventus’ current attacking options.

His skill set allows him to operate in multiple offensive roles, making him one of the most exciting young prospects available on the market.

A Star for the Present and the Future

Another major factor is his enormous potential. Alajbegovic, who was reportedly recommended to Juventus by former Bianconeri midfielder Miralem Pjanić, has already shown that he can compete at an international level despite his young age.

Head coach Luciano Spalletti has already approved the transfer and is eager to welcome the Bosnian to Turin.

After seeing fellow Bosnian defender Tarik Muharemovic leave due to financial considerations, Juventus are now bringing in another Bosnian talent viewed as having an even brighter future.

Last season, Alajbegovic came close to reaching double figures in the Bundesliga, but the club believes his best years are still ahead of him.

Thanks to his ability with both feet, he can play anywhere behind the main striker, whether as an attacking midfielder, a left-sided forward, or centrally.

The Perfect Partner or Successor to Kenan Yildiz?

In recent months, Alajbegovic has mainly featured on the left flank, the same area occupied by Kenan Yıldız. However, both players are equally capable of playing through the middle, giving Spalletti significant tactical flexibility.

The former Bayer Leverkusen youngster could also be deployed on the right wing, where Edon Zhegrova and Francisco Conceição currently compete for minutes.

Neither player is considered untouchable, leaving the door open for Alajbegovic to establish himself in different attacking roles.

Juventus’ vision is clear: Spalletti wants to give Yildiz greater freedom to influence matches while allowing Alajbegovic the ideal environment to continue his tactical and technical development.

Yildiz remains the centerpiece of Juventus’ new era, but the club also recognizes that an irresistible offer could eventually arrive.

Should that happen, Alajbegovic has all the qualities to become not only Yildiz’s attacking partner but potentially his long-term successor.

As Giovanni Albanese reports, these factors explain why Juventus consider their €30 million investment a calculated gamble with the potential to become one of the club’s smartest signings in years.
