Juventus send OFFICIAL offer for Vicario

Juventus‘ search for a new goalkeeper appears to be entering its decisive phase, with Guglielmo Vicario now emerging as the strongest candidate to replace Michele Di Gregorio.

After weeks of evaluating several high-profile options, the Bianconeri are increasingly convinced that the Tottenham shot-stopper could be the ideal solution.

According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, Vicario has quietly remained in the race while Juventus explored other alternatives, and recent developments have significantly strengthened his chances of making the move to Turin.

PSG’s Move for Suzuki Boosts Vicario’s Chances

Juventus initially focused on several elite goalkeepers. Liverpool’s Alisson Becker was the club’s preferred target before the Premier League side reversed its willingness to let him leave.

Aston Villa’s Emiliano “Dibu” Martínez then became the main option, but negotiations stalled after the English club refused to lower their demands, with Juventus unwilling to match the asking price.

More recently, Zion Suzuki of Parma entered the picture. However, that option now appears to be fading after Paris Saint-Germain reportedly submitted an official offer worth €33 million for the Japanese international.

With both Parma and Suzuki believed to be close to accepting the proposal, Juventus are expected to shift their full attention elsewhere. That leaves Vicario firmly in pole position.

Tottenham Loan Talks Could Be Decisive

While head coach Luciano Spalletti is currently on Juventus’ preseason tour in China and Australia, the club’s executives remain in Italy working on the transfer market.

The coming days are expected to be crucial as discussions continue with Tottenham. Juventus are hoping to secure Vicario on an initial loan deal without a mandatory purchase clause, a formula that would make the transfer financially sustainable.

Spurs may also be open to negotiations after the goalkeeper expressed his desire to return to Serie A in recent months.

Tottenham have already signed Martin Dúbravka as additional goalkeeping cover and notably left Vicario out of their recent preseason tour of Australia and New Zealand, further fueling speculation about his future.

Spalletti recently praised the Italian goalkeeper, acknowledging both his quality and experience while suggesting that Tottenham’s current situation could open the door for a transfer.

Juventus are nevertheless keeping alternative options under consideration.

With Suzuki seemingly heading to PSG, Lucas Chevalier could become more accessible, while Noah Atubolu, currently out of Freiburg’s first-team plans after failing to renew his contract, also remains on the shortlist.

Vanja Milinković-Savić continues to be monitored as another possible solution.

For now, though, all signs point toward Vicario.

If Tottenham approve Juventus’ proposed loan formula, the Italian international could soon complete his long-awaited return to Serie A and become the new man between the posts at the Allianz Stadium.
