The upcoming match marks the 28th Serie A meeting between the two teams. Juventus have dominated the fixture with 14 victories, while Como have won three, and there have been 10 draws.

Juventus are unbeaten in their last 22 Serie A encounters with Como, having secured 13 wins and 9 draws. The last time Como beat Juventus in Serie A was back on January 20, 1952.

In the first leg this season, Juventus defeated Como 3-0. If Como fail to score again, it will be the first time they’ve gone consecutive matches without scoring against Juventus in Serie A since the 1988-1989 season. Over the course of 27 encounters, Como have failed to score in 14 of those games, with Juventus being the team they’ve been shut out against most often in the competition.

Key stats | Como vs Juventus

Juventus have been lethal in stoppage time, having scored four goals after the 90th minute this season, only behind Lazio, who have five. On the other hand, Como have conceded the most goals in added time, with seven.

This will be Como’s first-ever Serie A home match on a Friday. Their previous three Friday Serie A encounters were all away, resulting in two losses (against Napoli and Torino) and one draw (against Lazio).

Juventus are set to play their 3,100th Serie A match in this fixture, making them the second team with the most appearances in the top flight, behind only Inter (3,136). Juventus have also scored 5,396 goals in Serie A and are just four away from reaching 5,400.

Como have struggled with goals from crosses this season, scoring just once from a cross — Patrick Cutrone’s goal from Gabriel Strefezza’s assist against Lazio on January 10.

Player spotlight

Randal Kolo Muani has been in fine form, scoring three goals in his last two Serie A matches. A goal here would make him the first Juventus player to score in each of his first three Serie A appearances since the three-points-per-win era began in 1994/95. No player has ever scored five goals in their first three Serie A matches since then, with Krzysztof Piątek the last to score at least four in 2018.

Dusan Vlahovic is approaching a major milestone. His next goal will be his 50th goal contribution in a Juventus shirt in Serie A (currently 49 goals and assists). He is also just two away from his 100th goal contribution in Europe’s top leagues, with 98 total (85 goals and 13 assists).

After scoring against AC Milan and assisting in the match against Empoli, Timothy Weah could make it three consecutive games with a goal or assist, which would be a first for him.

Kenan Yildiz, one of Europe’s brightest young talents, has been impressive, with five away goals in Europe’s top leagues over the last two seasons, making him one of the youngest players to reach that milestone, behind only Lamine Yamal.

Francisco Conceição has three assists this season in Serie A, matching his best career tally in a single season. The Portuguese forward could score in back-to-back matches for the second time in his career, after doing so in November-December 2023 with Porto.

Opposition focus

Nico Paz has been excellent at home for Como, scoring in each of his last four appearances at the Sinigaglia. Only two midfielders have scored in more consecutive home matches in Serie A during the three points per win era: Stefano Mauri (six between April and December 2014) and Eugenio Corini (five between September and November 2006).

Patrick Cutrone has netted four goals at home this season, his best return in Serie A since 2019/20, when he scored five in 16 matches for Wolverhampton and Fiorentina, and in 2017/18 with AC Milan.

Assane Diao has scored twice at home in Serie A this season, matching his total for the previous two seasons with Real Betis in La Liga.

Alberto Dossena‘s first-ever Serie A goal came against Juventus in a Cagliari shirt back in November 2023.

New signing Tasos Douvikas, who scored 10 goals and provided two assists in his last two seasons at Celta Vigo, will be one to watch for Como.

This match promises to be a fascinating encounter, with both teams boasting talented players and historical storylines. Don’t miss it!
