Juventus are already planning ahead for next season, and their focus appears to be firmly set on strengthening the defensive line.

According to reports from Libero, relayed via TuttoJuve, one name has emerged as a leading candidate: Kim Min-jae, the 29-year-old centre-back currently playing for Bayern Munich.

A Strategic Defensive Addition

The German club is reportedly open to negotiating a transfer fee in the region of €20 million, a figure that could make the deal financially viable for the Turin giants.

Rather than being seen as a direct replacement for Gleison Bremer—who remains a cornerstone of Juventus’ defense—Kim would instead provide depth and tactical flexibility within the squad.

His arrival would allow the team to better manage rotations and adapt to different match scenarios throughout the season. This potential move is also closely linked to the uncertain position of Federico Gatti.

At present, the defender does not appear to be fully aligned with the tactical vision of head coach Luciano Spalletti. As a result, Juventus could be looking to reshape their defensive hierarchy, making room for a player with a more versatile profile.

Familiarity and Reliability for Kim Min-jae

Kim Min-jae’s profile stands out not only for his physical presence and defensive awareness, but also for his proven adaptability across different systems. Importantly, he is already well known to Spalletti, having worked under him during their successful spell at Napoli.

That prior connection could play a significant role in facilitating a smooth transition, should the move materialize.

While discussions are still at an early stage, Kim’s name is quickly gaining traction as one of the most concrete options for Juventus’ defensive reinforcement.

The coming weeks are expected to be crucial in determining whether this initial interest will evolve into formal negotiations, potentially setting the stage for a key addition ahead of the new campaign.
