A rather unusual weekend in Turin for Dusan Vlahović, far from the sea and fully focused on training sessions and his phone.

Despite an uncertain contract situation, the Serbian striker has not given up on continuing his journey with Juventus, hoping that changes at board level could reopen the door to a long-term future in black and white.

According to journalist Giovanni Albanese, Vlahović is closely watching developments at the club, convinced that the arrival of new decision-makers could reshape his situation and revive stalled negotiations.

New leadership, new opening for renewal talks

The previous discussions between his father, Milos Vlahović, and former executive Damien Comolli had reached an impasse, with no concrete progress on a renewal.

However, the scenario has reportedly changed with the involvement of Giovanni Carnevali, whose arrival has reopened a possible channel for negotiations.

A key role in the player’s potential permanence could also be played by Luciano Spalletti, who is understood to strongly appreciate a striker profile like Vlahović’s and sees him as a central piece for his tactical system.

Contract stance: Juventus vs player expectations

From an economic standpoint, the gap remains significant. Vlahović is said to be requesting around €8 million per season, while Juventus—through Comolli’s previous stance—has been reluctant to go beyond €5 million, aligning with its internal wage structure and the salary of Kenan Yıldız as a benchmark.

A compromise could potentially be found through performance-related bonuses, which might bring both sides closer if there is mutual intent to continue together.

The striker, who becomes a free agent from June 30, has also reportedly received more lucrative offers elsewhere, but his priority remains staying in Turin.

Juventus, on the other hand, sees value in keeping him: retaining Vlahović would avoid a costly replacement in a market where elite strikers are scarce and expected to move mainly after the World Cup cycle begins.

For now, the situation remains open—but far from closed, with decisive talks expected in the coming days as Juventus prepares for a new strategic phase.
