The idea of Juventus signing Svilar emerges

Juventus are actively searching for a new goalkeeper, and a sensational new name has reportedly appeared on Giovanni Carnevali’s shortlist: Mile Svilar.

According to Tuttosport, the Belgian-born, Serbia international goalkeeper currently at Roma has become a concrete option for the Bianconeri heading into the summer transfer window.

The situation is influenced not only by technical evaluations but also by financial strategy and ongoing transfer discussions involving multiple intermediaries.

Svilar is represented by the same agency linked to another Juventus target, Emiliano Martínez, which has helped open indirect channels between the parties.

Financial pressure could open the door to negotiations

A key factor behind this developing scenario is the need for both Juventus and Roma to secure capital gains before June 30 in order to balance their accounts.

Juventus reportedly need around €13 million in plusvalenze, while Roma’s target is significantly higher, close to €50 million. However, the Giallorossi have already begun working on outgoing deals, including the departure of Tommaso Baldanzi and other potential sales such as Ilya Ziolkovski.

To bridge the financial gap, Roma could be forced to consider sacrificing one major asset. While players like Manu Koné, Wesley, Evan Ndicka, and Niccolò Pisilli are highly valued by Gian Piero Gasperini and therefore considered difficult to sell, the situation is different for Matías Soulé and possibly Svilar.

The Roma goalkeeper, who turns 27 in August, is viewed internally as a potential high-value asset. Having arrived on a free transfer thanks to former sporting director Tiago Pinto, any sale would generate a significant capital gain and greatly improve the club’s financial balance sheet.

Roma have previously set a valuation of around €50–60 million for Svilar, but financial urgency could force a reassessment.

According to Tuttosport, offers in the region of €35–40 million could prove difficult for the club to ignore.

For Juventus, Svilar is now officially one of the names under consideration as they evaluate alternatives in goal for the upcoming season.
