PSG star emerges as Brahim Diaz’ Alternative

Juventus continue to scan the international stage for potential reinforcements, with the Club World Cup providing an ideal opportunity to evaluate transfer targets up close.

While the Bianconeri hope players such as Jonathan David and Teun Koopmeiners can boost their market value through strong performances with their national teams, the club’s scouting department is also closely monitoring several names for the future.

According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, Juventus CEO Giovanni Carnevali has dispatched club scouts to North America to follow a number of targets, with Brahim Diaz remaining one of the most appreciated profiles.

Lee Kang-In Emerges as a Concrete Alternative

Despite Juventus’ interest, Diaz is believed to be determined to fight for his place under José Mourinho and is not expected to make a final decision on his future until later in the summer. As a result, Juventus are already working on alternative options.

One name gaining momentum in ongoing discussions with Paris Saint-Germain is South Korean international Lee Kang-In.

The two clubs have been in contact for weeks over a potential deal involving Randal Kolo Muani’s return to Turin.

Early talks reportedly explored a swap involving Jonathan David, while PSG also showed interest in Khephren Thuram. However, negotiations stalled due to differing valuations and transfer formulas.

Juventus Monitoring South Korean Star

Lee Kang-In has now emerged as a serious candidate to strengthen Juventus’ attacking midfield department.

The 2001-born playmaker rose to fame in South Korea at a young age before joining Valencia’s academy, eventually making his first-team debut at just 17 years old. After a successful spell with Mallorca, PSG invested €22 million to sign him in 2023.

A technically gifted left-footed player capable of operating centrally or from the right flank, Lee recorded four goals and five assists last season despite limited playing time under Luis Enrique.

He has also impressed on the international stage, contributing with an assist for South Korea during their World Cup campaign.

Compared to Brahim Diaz, Lee possesses less international experience but offers excellent ball retention, physical strength despite his low center of gravity, and outstanding crossing ability.

Interest is also growing from Atletico Madrid, who are reportedly prepared to offer around €25 million for the South Korean.

Juventus, meanwhile, continue to monitor the situation closely as they evaluate their next move in the transfer market.
