Carnevali has chosen New Goalkeeper

The goal scored by Vasilije Adžić against Sassuolo could have become a defining moment for Juventus. However, just seven days later, the Bianconeri have already found a way to put that painful defeat behind them.

For head coach Luciano Spalletti, the team’s reaction offers important signs of character and unity.

Speaking after Juventus’ victory over Atalanta, Spalletti acknowledged that the 3-2 defeat to Sassuolo had created difficulties and raised some doubts within the squad.

“We can improve our build-up play, and on several occasions, we had opportunities to hurt them because spaces and situations opened up. Still, it’s fine because we’ve come from a period in which things happened, such as the defeat against Sassuolo, which created difficulties and some doubts,” Spalletti explained, as reported by Tuttosport.

Spalletti Praises Juventus’ Unity

Despite the setback, Juventus have responded with a positive result and a strong collective attitude. Spalletti highlighted the players’ willingness to follow his instructions, even when those decisions involve changes to their usual schedule.

“These victories come from the players’ tremendous willingness to put into practice what you ask of them, even when they aren’t on the pitch. We decided not to train on Saturday, for example. We played on Thursday, completed a short recovery session on Friday morning, and then played again today. For a coach, there is no price you can put on this kind of commitment from the players.”

The coach also addressed the serious injury suffered by goalkeeper Karlström Grabara, who made his Juventus debut against NEC Nijmegen but is now expected to miss the remainder of the season.

Spalletti confirmed that the club’s directors will evaluate potential solutions, including the free-agent market.

Neto is reportedly Juventus’ preferred option, with the Brazilian goalkeeper keen on a return to Turin and his representatives offering their availability. Other candidates, including Sergio Rico, Alfred Gomis and Adam Stejskal, appear to be further down the list.

Kolo Muani Earns Spalletti’s Praise

Spalletti also singled out Randal Kolo Muani for his impressive performance against Atalanta. The French striker came close to scoring, but Carnesecchi denied him with a crucial save.

Recalling the opportunity, Spalletti joked about the Italian expression “zeppetta,” before praising the striker’s determination.

“He played a truly great match. He deserved a goal, but he was very happy, and we joked together. I’m convinced Kolo Muani will have opportunities to show what kind of goalscorer he is. He wasn’t lucky, but he was excellent in not giving up on that cross and helping to preserve the result.”

The Juventus coach also dedicated a message to injured players Manuel Locatelli, Khéphren Thuram, Kenan Yıldız and Grabara, emphasizing that they remain part of the team’s collective spirit.

“They aren’t available, but they are at home cheering for us. It’s beautiful to see this atmosphere.”

For Spalletti, Juventus’ response extends beyond the result itself. The team’s unity could prove crucial as the season continues.
