Juventus are preparing to make their first official move for Franck Kessié, one of the highest-profile free agents currently available, as the club looks to strengthen Luciano Spalletti’s squad ahead of the new season.
According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, discussions with the Ivorian midfielder have been ongoing for several months, but the Bianconeri are now ready to intensify their efforts.
Kessié, who recently completed a lucrative spell in Saudi Arabia, is eager to return to Serie A and is intrigued by the prospect of joining Juventus.

A reunion with sporting executive Frederic Massara, with whom he celebrated the 2021/22 Serie A title during their time together at AC Milan under Stefano Pioli, is considered another factor working in Juventus’ favor.
Juventus Testing the Waters for Kessié
Despite their interest, Juventus are well aware that signing Kessié will not be straightforward. The 29-year-old is reportedly seeking a salary of around €5 million per season, in addition to a significant signing bonus and agent commissions.
Even so, the Turin giants see the midfielder as a valuable market opportunity thanks to his winning mentality, leadership, and experience at the highest level.
Club CEO Giovanni Carnevali, football director Frederic Massara, sporting director Marco Ottolini, and head coach Luciano Spalletti all reportedly appreciate Kessié’s profile.
However, Juventus’ midfield is already crowded, with Weston McKennie, Fabio Miretti, Manuel Locatelli, Douglas Luiz, Arthur, Khéphren Thuram, Teun Koopmeiners, and Vasilije Adžić all competing for places.
For that reason, the club is attempting to build an agreement with Kessié while monitoring potential departures before making a final push.

Kolo Muani Remains the Top Priority
While Kessié is an attractive opportunity, Juventus’ main objective remains signing Randal Kolo Muani from Paris Saint-Germain.
As reported by La Gazzetta dello Sport, this week is expected to be decisive in negotiations between the two clubs.
Carnevali recently confirmed that PSG’s demands remain too high, revealing that Juventus have no intention of exceeding their valuation.
“Either we find an agreement, or we will move for another player. The asking price is above €45 million. Buying is easy if you spend enough, but the figures are very high.”
Juventus are believed to have offered around €40 million and are unwilling to reach the €50 million requested by the French champions.
PSG have shown openness to a loan deal with an option that could become an obligation under specific conditions, giving both clubs hope that a compromise can still be reached.

Should negotiations collapse, Juventus are ready to shift their attention to Alexander Sørloth of Atlético Madrid or Folarin Balogun, who has emerged as a fresh attacking option.
At the same time, the Bianconeri continue to monitor Mateo Pellegrino, although Parma’s €30 million valuation remains a significant obstacle.
Beyond the striker position, Juventus are also working on finding a replacement for Michele Di Gregorio.
Aston Villa goalkeeper Emiliano “Dibu” Martínez remains the preferred choice, but Tottenham’s Guglielmo Vicario is becoming an increasingly realistic alternative as the transfer market continues to evolve.
