Ravanelli message to Juventus: “Sign THIS No. 9”

Former Juventus striker Fabrizio Ravanelli has offered his view on the Bianconeri’s attacking needs after the opening round of the 2026/27 Serie A season, while also addressing the latest speculation surrounding a possible move for Alexander Sørloth.

Speaking to Tuttosport, Ravanelli highlighted the importance of adding a physically imposing No. 9 who can provide Juventus with a different attacking option.

In his opinion, Sørloth could be particularly useful for Luciano Spalletti because of his strength, movement and ability in the air.

Ravanelli: Sørloth Could Give Juventus Something Different

“We need a No. 9 who is physically strong and fights with everyone, attacks the space and is also good in the air. I believe Sørloth could be useful to Juventus,” Ravanelli explained.

The former Bianconeri forward revealed that he has watched the Norwegian striker several times in person and was impressed by what he saw.

While Sørloth possesses an imposing physique, Ravanelli believes his qualities go beyond simply being a traditional target man.

“He is very strong physically because he is truly a mountain. But he also has pace, he is dynamic and attacks the depth,” he added.

That combination could make Sørloth an intriguing option for Spalletti, particularly in matches where Juventus need to break down a compact defence.

His ability to hold the ball, bring teammates into play and provide a direct aerial threat could add another dimension to the attack.

Juventus Considering a Possible Transfer Formula

Ravanelli also suggested that Sørloth and Kolo Muani could potentially coexist rather than necessarily competing for the same role, giving Spalletti greater tactical flexibility depending on the opponent and match situation.

Meanwhile, Atletico Madrid are reportedly looking to sell Sørloth permanently, but their valuation remains high at around €40 million.

Juventus could explore a broader deal involving Nico González, potentially using the Argentine winger as part of the negotiations to help make the striker operation possible.

With the transfer window approaching its final stages, Sørloth remains a name worth watching closely around Turin.
