Juventus are stepping up their work in the transfer market as Giovanni Carnevali and Massara look to deliver Luciano Spalletti the new striker he has been asking for.

The Bianconeri are focused on completing their attacking department with a forward capable of adding greater physical presence, strength and goals to the team ahead of the new season.

The situation has now entered a decisive phase, with Juventus needing to balance Spalletti’s tactical demands with the club’s financial limits.

Rather than relying solely on a major cash investment, the Turin giants are exploring exchange deals that could allow them to strengthen the squad while keeping spending under control.

Mateta or Sørloth: Juventus Explore Two Major Swaps

According to Paolo Paganini of RAI Sport, Juventus are currently working on two different transfer scenarios to land the “power striker” Spalletti wants.

Paganini revealed on X: “Giovanni Carnevali is working on two fronts to sign the ‘power striker’ that Spalletti wants for Juventus: 1. swap with Crystal Palace, Mateta/David. 2. swap with Atletico Madrid, Sørloth/Nico Gonzalez. Some money is involved.”

The first option takes Juventus to the Premier League and specifically to Crystal Palace, where Jean-Philippe Mateta has emerged as a potential target.

The French striker would fit the profile Spalletti is looking for thanks to his imposing physical presence, ability to hold up the ball and strength in the final third.

Mateta could provide Juventus with a genuine reference point in attack, allowing the team to play more directly when necessary while creating space for teammates around him.

The proposed deal could involve Jonathan David, with the Canadian striker reportedly appreciated by Crystal Palace.

Such an exchange would offer Juventus a way to reinforce the attack without having to make a huge immediate cash investment.

However, the financial difference between the two players remains a key issue, with the clubs still needing to agree on the value of any additional payment.

Sørloth Alternative Leads Juventus to Atletico Madrid

The second route takes Juventus to Spain and Atletico Madrid, with Alexander Sørloth identified as another possible solution for Spalletti’s attack.

The Norwegian forward offers many of the characteristics Juventus are seeking. Tall, powerful and dangerous inside the penalty area, Sørloth could give the Bianconeri a genuine target man capable of competing with defenders and adding a stronger physical dimension to their offensive game.

In this scenario, Carnevali and Massara could include Nico Gonzalez in the proposed exchange in an attempt to reduce Atletico Madrid’s financial demands.

Gonzalez’s involvement could therefore become the key to unlocking negotiations between the two clubs.

However, as with the Mateta operation, the biggest challenge remains financial. Juventus and Atletico will have to find an agreement on the respective valuations of the players before either deal can move forward.

With Spalletti demanding a striker who can bring greater weight, physicality and goals to the Juventus attack, the next few days could prove crucial.

Carnevali and Massara are now working on two different fronts, with Mateta and Sørloth representing two potential answers to the same question: who will become Spalletti’s new attacking reference point?!
