Giovanni Carnevali has admitted that Juventus are carefully weighing their options in the search for a new goalkeeper, with several high-profile names under consideration as the club plans for the future between the posts.
Speaking at the opening of the 2026 summer transfer window, the Juventus general manager and CEO addressed speculation linking the Bianconeri with several goalkeepers, including Aston Villa’s Emiliano “Dibu” Martínez and Tottenham Hotspur’s Guglielmo Vicario.
“Closing these kinds of deals is never easy. We know where we want to go, that’s for sure. Dibu Martínez is an important player, Argentina’s national team goalkeeper, with great quality and experience.

He could be suitable, but we are also evaluating other profiles. Vicario is an option, but there are other young goalkeepers as well.
We are under no immediate pressure to complete a deal—we have time to reflect and find players who fit Juventus and truly want to come here.”
The comments suggest Juventus are in no rush to finalize their choice, with Luciano Spalletti’s side continuing to assess the market before making a decisive move.
Svilar Emerges as a Serious Alternative
According to Italian transfer expert Matteo Moretto, speaking on Fabrizio Romano’s Italian YouTube channel, Juventus are also keeping a close eye on Roma goalkeeper Mile Svilar.
While negotiations for Martínez and Vicario are complicated by high transfer fees and the demands involved in striking agreements with their respective clubs, Svilar is viewed as a more financially realistic option.
Moretto reports that Juventus have already made contact with Roma to explore the possibility of a deal for the Serbian international.
The Bianconeri believe the 26-year-old represents an excellent alternative, particularly given that his overall transfer cost would likely be lower than that of the other leading candidates.

Roma Reluctant to Sell Despite Financial Pressure
Although Roma are expected to complete at least one sale before June 30 to help comply with UEFA Financial Fair Play regulations, completing a swift agreement for Svilar remains highly unlikely.
The goalkeeper recently committed his future to the Giallorossi by signing a contract that runs until June 30, 2030, putting Roma in a strong negotiating position.
As a result, any move would require significant discussions and is far from straightforward. Nevertheless, Juventus have already established contact regarding Svilar and continue to keep him firmly on their shortlist as they evaluate who will become the club’s long-term first-choice goalkeeper.
According to Matteo Moretto, the interest is genuine, even if the operation remains difficult at this stage of the transfer window.
