“Suzuki the bridge, while Alisson the destination”

Juventus appear to have identified a long-term strategy to solve their goalkeeping problem without committing to a major transfer fee.

According to SportMediaset, the Bianconeri are expected to hold talks with Paris Saint-Germain to discuss a season-long loan deal for Zion Suzuki, potentially allowing the Japanese international to move to Turin without a transfer fee.

The situation is closely linked to PSG’s imminent acquisition of Suzuki from Parma. The French champions are reportedly preparing an investment of around €35 million for the 2002-born goalkeeper.

However, with PSG already having several goalkeeping options in their squad, Suzuki could immediately be sent out on loan to gain regular playing time.

SportMediaset reports that Juventus are increasingly convinced by this possibility and are waiting for the final green light from Paris.

For Juventus, the solution would make considerable sense from a financial perspective. Rather than spending a large amount on a goalkeeper this summer, the club could bring in a young, highly rated international on loan while keeping its resources available for other positions.

Suzuki would also have the opportunity to establish himself at a major Serie A club and continue his development at the highest level.

Suzuki as the Bridge to a Bigger Juventus Goal

The plan, however, could extend well beyond the upcoming season. Juventus are reportedly already looking toward 2027, when another major name could become available.

That player is Alisson Becker.

The Brazilian goalkeeper remains a name highly appreciated in Turin, having previously been strongly linked with Juventus.

The club reportedly explored the possibility of signing him earlier this year, while his relationship with Luciano Spalletti from their time together at Roma adds another intriguing element to the story.

Alisson’s current Liverpool contract is expected to expire next summer, meaning Juventus could potentially attempt to sign one of the world’s most experienced goalkeepers as a free agent in 2027.

SportMediaset highlights precisely this possibility as part of Juventus’ thinking: Suzuki could provide a cost-effective short-term solution, while Alisson could eventually become the club’s long-term choice between the posts.

For Juventus, this would represent a remarkably cautious approach to one of the most important positions on the pitch.

The club could avoid paying a significant transfer fee this summer, give Suzuki a season to prove himself, and then reassess the situation when Alisson potentially becomes available.

There is, of course, still plenty that can change over the next 12 months. Suzuki would first need to complete his move to PSG and receive the green light for a loan to Turin, while Alisson’s future at Liverpool could also take a different direction.

For now, however, Juventus appear to have a clear idea: Suzuki could be the bridge, while Alisson could be the destination.
