According to Tuttosport, Juventus recently learned that lesson again. Their long-standing interest in Sergej Milinković-Savić pushed Al Hilal to act fast, officially renewing the Serbian midfielder’s contract until 2028.

As Tuttosport highlights, Juventus sporting director want a physically strong midfielder. The target is not a classic playmaker, but a box-to-box player capable of covering ground, recovering balls, and contributing with goals. Milinković-Savić would have been the perfect fit. Since that path is now closed, the scouting team is widening its view.

Several names stand out. One is Ayyoub Bouaddi, Lille’s 18-year-old prodigy. He represents the future but would require patience and gradual integration. Another option is Yves Bissouma, whose Tottenham contract is running out. He was already linked with Juventus last summer and remains on their radar.

Then there’s Rúben Neves, another Al Hilal player. At 28, the Portuguese midfielder could bring balance and experience. Newcastle are monitoring him closely, but Juventus might prefer a different route—possibly even revisiting a move for Sandro Tonali, should the opportunity arise in the coming months.

Exploring every possiility

While waiting for clarity, Juventus continue to analyze a broad list of midfield profiles. Tuttosport reports that Xaver Schlager from RB Leipzig is one of the serious candidates. Reliable, dynamic, and technically sound, he could offer stability in the center.

Another interesting name is Franck Kessié, once among the club’s top summer targets before the focus shifted toward attacking reinforcements.

There’s also Martin Payero Atta from Udinese and Morten Frendrup from Genoa—highly regarded by Comolli for his leadership and tactical discipline.

New coach will play a decisive role in shaping the final decision. His opinion could influence both the identity of the chosen player and the size of the investment. The January budget will not be extravagant, but it won’t be minimal either.

Securing a Champions League spot remains a must, and the squad must be strong enough to reach that goal. Alongside the midfield search, Juventus might also prioritize a new full-back—someone capable of making an immediate impact and serving as a long-term starter.
