Italian football journalist Nicolò Schira has revealed an emerging transfer battle involving two Serie A giants and one of Europe’s most promising young wingers.

Speaking on his official YouTube channel, Schira highlighted the growing interest from both Juventus and Napoli in talented Dutch prospect Ernest Poku, currently playing for Bayer Leverkusen.

Napoli and Juventus Closely Monitoring Ernest Poku

According to Schira, Napoli were the first Italian club to take concrete steps. The club’s sporting director, Giovanni Manna, has reportedly been following the player closely for over a month.

Napoli’s scouting department has been carefully evaluating Poku’s development, recognizing his potential to strengthen their attacking options both now and in the future.

Juventus, however, have quickly entered the race. Schira revealed that a Juventus scout was present in Piraeus last Wednesday to observe Poku in action.

This signals serious intent from the Turin side, who are known for investing in young players with high upside. While the Juventus scout also monitored other talents during the trip, Poku remains one of the most intriguing names on their radar.

The situation could soon evolve into a direct transfer duel between the two Italian powerhouses, with both clubs eager to secure a player who fits their long-term vision.

A Modern Winger with High Potential

Poku, born in 2004, represents the profile modern clubs are actively seeking. He holds a Dutch passport, which gives him European Union status—an important advantage for transfers within European leagues. More importantly, his on-field qualities make him stand out.

Schira described him as a fast, elusive winger capable of playing on both flanks. His ability to beat defenders in one-on-one situations, combined with his acceleration and technical skills, makes him a dangerous attacking weapon.

Players with such versatility and explosiveness are highly valued in today’s tactical systems. As interest continues to grow, Poku’s future could soon become one of the most compelling transfer stories involving Serie A clubs.

With Napoli already attentive and Juventus now actively scouting, the battle for this rising star appears to be only just beginning.
