Spalletti ask to sign Inter left-back

Forza Juventus

The Serie A transfer market continues to produce intriguing possibilities, and one of the latest names to attract attention is Carlos Augusto.

The versatile Brazilian wing-back has reportedly emerged on Juventus’ radar as a potential solution to strengthen and complete the left side of Luciano Spalletti’s squad.

According to JuventusNews24, the idea of bringing the Inter player to Turin would offer several tactical advantages, although there would also be significant financial and environmental obstacles to overcome.

Carlos Augusto Tactical Versatility

One of the biggest arguments in favour of a move for Carlos Augusto is undoubtedly his extraordinary tactical flexibility.

The Brazilian is comfortable operating in several roles on the left side of the pitch, making him an attractive option for a Juventus side capable of adapting its tactical approach.

He can play as a more conservative left-back in a traditional back four, operate as a wing-back in a 3-5-2 system, or even slot into the left-sided centre-back position within a back three.

That versatility could prove particularly valuable to Spalletti, who would have the option of using the player according to the opposition and the demands of individual matches.

Another major advantage is Carlos Augusto’s extensive experience in Italian football. Having already established himself in Serie A, the former Monza player would not need time to adapt to the pace, physicality and tactical demands of the league.

His consistency in the final third is another positive. Carlos Augusto has shown that he can contribute with both assists and goals while also providing a strong defensive presence.

Unlike many attack-minded wide players, he is capable of making an impact without the ball, thanks to his physical strength, defensive discipline and effectiveness in aerial duels.

His experience at Champions League level and involvement with the Brazil national team further underline his maturity and ability to perform on the biggest stage.

Inter-Juventus Rivalry Could Complicate the Deal

However, there is a major obstacle standing in Juventus’ way: Inter. The historical rivalry between the two clubs would make negotiations particularly complicated.

Inter regard Carlos Augusto as an important part of their squad and rotation options, meaning the Nerazzurri would have little reason to make life easier for a direct domestic rival.

According to the report, the economic side of the operation could represent another significant challenge. The player’s valuation, combined with the strength of his contractual situation, would require a substantial financial investment from Juventus.

Carlos Augusto nevertheless represents an intriguing profile. His ability to play in multiple positions, his Serie A experience and his balance between attacking and defensive qualities make him a player who could fit naturally into Juventus’ plans.

The question is whether Juventus will be prepared to invest heavily to bring him across the Derby d’Italia divide — and, perhaps more importantly, whether Inter would even be willing to open the door to such a move.
