Juventus may not have exploded into the transfer market just yet, but behind the scenes the Bianconeri are working intensely.
With new CEO Giovanni Carnevali now leading the club’s transfer strategy, the objective is to balance financial sustainability while fulfilling Luciano Spalletti’s requests to build a squad capable of competing at the highest level.
The club’s immediate priorities remain signing a new striker—although negotiations for Randal Kolo Muani are still not straightforward—and a goalkeeper comfortable playing out from the back.
However, Spalletti has also asked for at least one, and ideally two, physically imposing and experienced midfielders. According to Sky Sport Italia, Leon Goretzka has once again emerged as a serious target.

Goretzka Back on Juventus’ Radar
Goretzka officially became a free agent after his contract with Bayern Munich expired on June 30, 2026, making him available to sign for any club on a free transfer.
Until recently, the German midfielder had been fully focused on representing Germany at the FIFA World Cup, but following their elimination by Paraguay, attention has shifted back to his club future.
According to Sky Sport Italia, Juventus have reopened talks with the representatives of the 1995-born midfielder.
The Bianconeri had already explored a move for Goretzka toward the end of last season under the previous management led by Damien Comolli.
Now, Giovanni Carnevali is evaluating the financial demands of the deal, its overall feasibility, and whether the player would be willing to join Juventus despite the club’s absence from the UEFA Champions League.
Financial Demands Could Complicate the Deal
Goretzka was also heavily linked with AC Milan, having been one of Massimiliano Allegri’s preferred midfield targets if the Rossoneri had qualified for the Champions League.
However, Milan’s extensive squad overhaul saw them step away from the race, while Napoli are now also believed to be monitoring the situation.

The biggest obstacle remains the player’s salary expectations. Sky Sport Italia reports that Goretzka is seeking a contract worth at least €7 million net per season over a minimum of three years, in addition to a €10 million signing bonus.
Those are significant financial demands, especially considering Juventus were unwilling to offer similar terms to Dušan Vlahović, making any potential agreement far from straightforward.
