Gatti has decided his future

Forza Juventus

Federico Gatti has no intention of giving up on his place at Juventus. His pre-season is about much more than minutes, fitness levels or tactical instructions.

The Italian defender sees this period as an opportunity to prove to Luciano Spalletti that he can play an important role in the new Juventus project.

According to TuttoJuve, Gatti’s position is clear: he wants to remain in Turin, continue wearing the Bianconeri shirt and earn his place on the pitch.

However, his determination could still be tested by the dynamics of the transfer market, with Juventus potentially forced to consider his future if a significant offer arrives.

Gatti Ready to Fight for His Place

The summer has been an important period for Gatti, although his preparation has not been completely straightforward from a physical perspective.

The centre-back returned to action against Palermo, playing 45 minutes as he looks to regain his rhythm and confidence ahead of the new campaign.

His condition will continue to be monitored when the team returns to training, with the aim of gradually increasing his workload and playing time.

Spalletti is expected to take time before establishing definitive defensive hierarchies. The coach wants to fully understand the characteristics of each centre-back, meaning every training session could prove decisive for Gatti.

Aggression, aerial ability, intensity in duels and personality remain among the qualities he can use to convince the new Juventus coach.

A New Defensive Hierarchy at Juventus

Gatti’s biggest challenge could come from the changing landscape of Juventus’ defence. Bremer’s return inevitably alters the balance at the back, while the arrival of Jhon Lucumí adds a left-footed centre-back specifically requested by Spalletti.

The Colombian offers valuable qualities in possession and build-up play and already has the coach’s confidence.

There are also other options within the squad, including Pierre Kalulu, further increasing competition for places.

For Gatti, this means fighting for every minute. Juventus will need several centre-backs throughout a long season, but the abundance of options could also encourage the club to consider a sale if an attractive proposal arrives.

From the player’s perspective, however, his priority remains unchanged. Gatti feels strongly connected to Juventus and does not see a departure as the ideal solution for his career.

Turin is where he wants to continue the journey that began with his rise through the lower divisions to the highest level of football.

Now, he wants to prove that he can also be an important part of Spalletti’s Juventus — a team where centre-backs will be expected to deliver not only defensively, but also in possession and during the build-up.
