Juventus are keeping a close eye on Virgil van Dijk as they begin planning for the 2027 summer transfer window, according to La Gazzetta dello Sport.
The Italian club reportedly sent a representative to Amsterdam during the Netherlands’ recent matches to monitor several Dutch internationals, with Liverpool captain Van Dijk among the players under observation.

Van Dijk’s Contract Situation
The 35-year-old centre-back’s contract situation is understood to be central to Juventus’ interest. Van Dijk renewed his Liverpool contract in April 2025 for a further two seasons, meaning his current deal is scheduled to expire in June 2027.
If no new agreement is reached, the defender would be free to leave Liverpool at the end of the 2026/27 season and could negotiate with other clubs during the final months of his contract.
However, there is currently no indication that Van Dijk has decided to leave Anfield. The Dutchman said in September that there had been no updates regarding his contract, while Liverpool has highlighted that the club will need to hold discussions with several players whose agreements expire next summer.
Van Dijk remains an important part of Liverpool’s squad. During the 2026/27 Premier League campaign, he has started all five of his appearances, playing 450 minutes, while he has also featured for 90 minutes in the Champions League.
Juventus Looking at a Free Transfer
Van Dijk joined Liverpool from Southampton in January 2018 for a fee of around £75 million and has since made more than 370 appearances for the club.
His reported salary of approximately £350,000 per week, according to Capology estimates, would make any potential deal significant, although a free transfer could make the move more attractive to Juventus.

La Gazzetta dello Sport reportedly includes Van Dijk among several potential free agents being monitored by Juventus, alongside Fikayo Tomori, Mateo Kovacic and David Raum.
The report also links Van Dijk’s possible arrival with uncertainty surrounding Gleison Bremer, whose future is attracting renewed interest from English clubs. For now, Juventus are monitoring the situation, with further developments expected ahead of 2027.
