We now know Jonathan David‘s financial demands!

Thanks to an exclusive document obtained by Sky Sport, which reflects discussions between his entourage and Premier League executives, Jonathan David is asking for a salary of €9 million gross per season, along with a €15 million signing bonus, not to mention agent fees of around €10 million.

In total, any club looking to sign Jonathan David who will be a free agent as of June 30 would need to spend a hefty €34 million. This amount is challenging for English clubs, not due to financial constraints but because of how they structure their investments.

Premier League clubs typically invest large sums through their dedicated transfer budgets, whereas integrating such a financial package into the club’s salary structure is unusual, if not unprecedented. Unlike transfer expenses, wage budgets are subject to different tax regulations, which complicates the deal for English clubs.

On the other hand, Serie A clubs, whose football business regulations differ from those in England, often compensate for the absence of a transfer fee by offering significantly higher salaries to players.

Juventus has started negotiations with Jonathan David agent

In this context, Juventus has already begun discussions with Jonathan David’s camp, as has Inter Milan, led by Giuseppe Marotta, who has developed strong expertise in handling free-agent deals (a parametro zero).

Although the Canadian striker’s dream remains to play in La Liga, the most active clubs in the race are currently Italian, with Juventus slightly ahead as they seek to strengthen their attack.

Their objective is to sell Dušan Vlahović. However, the departure of Thiago Motta has reshuffled the cards, and the final arrival of Kolo Muani in Turin remains uncertain.

So, who will win this Italian derby between Juventus and Inter to sign Jonathan David ? Stay tuned.
