Derby d’Italia for Italian Wonderkid

Another Derby d’Italia could be taking shape in the transfer market, with Juventus and Inter both showing interest in one of Italy’s most promising young talents.

Since Giovanni Carnevali joined the club’s management, Juventus have once again placed greater emphasis on identifying and developing young Italian players.

It is a philosophy that has served Inter particularly well in recent seasons, with Beppe Marotta adopting an approach he knows well from his own time in Turin: successful teams need a strong Italian core.

With Italian clubs facing increasing financial pressure compared with wealthy foreign rivals, securing the best domestic talents early has become more important than ever.

Recent examples such as Riccardo Calafiori, Marco Palestra and Fabio Ahanor demonstrate how quickly promising Italian youngsters can attract international attention.

According to Nicolò Schira of Tuttosport, Juventus and Inter have now turned their attention to 18-year-old Samuele Inacio, a player already showing signs of becoming a special talent.

The Italian-Brazilian forward made his breakthrough at Borussia Dortmund towards the end of last season, earning starting opportunities in both the Bundesliga and the German Cup. He immediately impressed with his performances, contributing goals and assists despite his young age.

Dortmund were quick to react to the growing interest. The German club renewed Inacio’s contract until 2029 earlier this summer, following the first approaches from Serie A clubs.

Juventus Have a Potential Advantage on Samuele Inacio

Inter were among the clubs to enquire about the 2008-born attacker. The Nerazzurri are looking for a forward capable of providing creativity and unpredictability in the final third, and former sporting director Piero Ausilio had already explored the possibility of a deal.

However, Dortmund immediately made it clear that they had no intention of letting Inacio leave.

His playing time this season has so far been limited, with only 13 minutes accumulated between the Bundesliga and Champions League. Nevertheless, he made his opportunity count in the German Cup, scoring twice against HEBC Hamburg.

Juventus, meanwhile, could return to the race in future transfer windows after monitoring his development for some time.

The club’s long-term objective is clear: build a new winning cycle around young, high-potential players. Inacio could fit perfectly into that strategy.

There is another factor that could potentially work in Juventus’ favour. Inacio is represented by Edoardo Crnjar, an agent who has developed strong links with the Turin club.

He was involved in negotiations surrounding Kolo Muani’s return to Juventus this summer and also played a role as an intermediary in Michele Di Gregorio’s move to Bournemouth.

That relationship could prove important if Juventus decide to make a serious move for Inacio.

The teenager is also attracting attention at international level. Roberto Mancini is reportedly monitoring his progress and could consider calling him up to the Italian national team in the near future.

For Juventus and Inter, the race for one of Italy’s most intriguing young talents may only be beginning.
