Juventus are intensifying their efforts to sign Bologna defender Jhon Lucumí as the club continues to strengthen its squad ahead of the new season.
The Colombian international, who is under contract with Bologna until June 2027, has emerged as one of the Bianconeri’s priority targets in defence.
According to reports from Sky Sport Italia, Juventus’ interest in the 26-year-old centre-back is concrete, with sporting director Giovanni Carnevali prepared to submit an offer worth between €15 million and €18 million to secure the player’s permanent transfer.
Bologna Unwilling to Lower Their Demands
Despite Lucumí’s reluctance to extend his current deal, Bologna remain determined to maximise their return on one of their most valuable assets.
The Rossoblù are reportedly demanding the full €28 million release clause included in the defender’s contract, a clause that remains active until mid-July.

At this stage, there is still a significant gap between Juventus’ valuation and Bologna’s asking price.
The Emilian club have shown little willingness to negotiate below the release clause figure, believing the Colombian defender’s experience and consistent performances justify their stance.
Lucumí has established himself as one of Serie A’s most reliable defenders in recent seasons, combining physical strength, composure in possession and tactical intelligence.
His performances for both Bologna and the Colombian national team have attracted growing interest across Europe.
Roma and Bournemouth Also Monitoring the Situation
Juventus are not alone in the race for Lucumí. Serie A rivals Roma and Premier League side Bournemouth are also keeping a close eye on the situation.
Nevertheless, it remains unclear whether either club is prepared to meet Bologna’s financial demands by triggering the release clause in full. As things stand, such a scenario appears unlikely.

With Lucumí unwilling to commit to a contract extension and several clubs monitoring developments, the coming weeks could prove decisive in determining his future.
For now, Juventus remain interested, but Bologna’s firm position continues to represent the biggest obstacle in completing a deal.
