Juventus are preparing to step up their pursuit of Jhon Lucumí, with the coming days expected to be crucial in determining whether the Colombian defender will make the move to Turin this summer.

According to Corriere di Bologna, negotiations between Juventus and Bologna are expected to begin once Lucumí returns from his international commitments at the FIFA Club World Cup.

The 27-year-old centre-back is due back at Bologna’s Casteldebole training ground on Tuesday, where he will rejoin his teammates and begin preparations for the new season. His arrival is also expected to mark the start of formal discussions between the two Serie A clubs.

Juventus Ready to Push for Lucumí

Juventus have identified Lucumí as one of their priority defensive targets as they continue reshaping the squad ahead of the new campaign.

The Colombian international has impressed with his composure on the ball, defensive awareness, and consistency in Serie A, qualities that have made him a highly regarded option for the Bianconeri.

As reported by Corriere di Bologna, both clubs are now expected to explore the conditions of a potential transfer. While no agreement has yet been reached, there is growing optimism that negotiations will accelerate once the player is back in Bologna.

Como Turn Attention Elsewhere

Meanwhile, Como appear to have accepted that Lucumí’s preferred destination is Juventus. Rather than continuing their pursuit of the defender, the ambitious Serie A side are now believed to be focusing on alternative options to strengthen their back line.

The report states that Como have renewed their interest in Trevoh Chalobah of Chelsea, viewing the English defender as the ideal alternative after recognizing Lucumí’s desire to join Juventus.

With Lucumí back in Italy and direct talks between Bologna and Juventus expected to begin shortly, the transfer saga is entering its most decisive phase.

The next few days could prove pivotal as both clubs attempt to bridge any remaining differences and reach an agreement that would allow the Colombian defender to take the next step in his career.

According to Corriere di Bologna, all eyes are now on the negotiations, which are set to shape Lucumí’s future before the new Serie A season gets underway.
