Juventus continue to shape their plans for the summer transfer window, with the club focusing on strengthening several key areas of the squad.
While signing a new goalkeeper and striker remains the immediate priority, the Bianconeri are already laying the groundwork for defensive reinforcements, with Lecce’s highly rated Tiago Gabriel emerging as one of the leading candidates.

According to Calciomercato, Juventus are prioritizing the arrival of a new goalkeeper as Michele Di Gregorio’s future remains uncertain, while negotiations continue with Paris Saint-Germain over Randal Kolo Muani.
Once those operations are addressed, the club is expected to turn its full attention to signing a central midfielder and a new central defender.
Tiago Gabriel Among Juventus’ Preferred Options
The Turin giants have identified three main defensive targets: Tarik Muharemovic, Jhon Lucumí and Tiago Gabriel.
Of those names, Gabriel has attracted significant attention after an impressive campaign with Lecce.
Juventus have monitored the Portuguese defender extensively over the past season, and initial discussions with his representatives reportedly began as early as January, when both parties agreed to resume talks during the summer.
The 2004-born centre-back is considered one of the brightest defensive prospects in Serie A. Lecce value him between €35 million and €40 million, reflecting both his rapid development and the growing interest from clubs across Europe.

The Giallorossi signed Gabriel from Estrela Amadora for around €1 million in January 2025, and they now hope to secure a substantial profit if they decide to sell.
Juventus Looking to Gain an Advantage
Competition for Gabriel is expected to be intense. AC Milan and Inter are both monitoring his situation, while Premier League side Bournemouth, led by sporting executive Tiago Pinto, are also keeping close tabs on the defender.
Calciomercato reports that Lecce already rejected offers worth around €25 million from England during the January transfer window, highlighting the club’s determination to hold out for their asking price.
Juventus are therefore trying to move quickly by strengthening their relationship with Gabriel’s entourage before opening formal negotiations with Lecce.
The strategy is to first secure the player’s approval and then attempt to lower the transfer fee, potentially by including one or more players as part of the deal.
With several clubs competing for the Portuguese defender’s signature, the Bianconeri are aiming to place themselves at the front of the queue before the race intensifies.
