Juventus are continuing to explore potential opportunities to strengthen their midfield during the final two weeks of the summer transfer window, with Milan midfielder Youssouf Fofana emerging as one of the names appreciated by the Bianconeri hierarchy.
The latest update comes from Luca Marchetti of Sky Sport Italia, who discussed Juventus’ midfield plans during a special transfer-market programme.
According to Marchetti, Fofana is currently outside Milan’s squad plans, making him a potential opportunity for Juventus to consider before the transfer window closes.

However, Juventus would first need to create room in their midfield. The Bianconeri already have several options in the department, meaning that at least one departure would likely be required before the club could make a move for another midfielder.
Fofana Joins Kessié and Goretzka on Juventus’ Radar
Fofana is not the only midfielder recently linked with Juventus. The Turin club have also been associated with Franck Kessié and Leon Goretzka, both of whom could be available as free agents.
Despite the interest, Juventus have yet to make a decisive move for either player, largely because the club must first focus on reducing the size of the squad and creating space for a new arrival.
The same situation would apply to any potential approach for Fofana. Sky Sport Italia’s Marchetti explained that Juventus like the Milan midfielder, but a move would depend on an exit from the current squad.
The final 15 days of the transfer window could therefore prove crucial. If Juventus manage to complete a departure, the club could potentially accelerate their interest in Fofana.
Juventus-Milan Swap Deal Could Be an Option
There is also another intriguing possibility. Juventus and Milan could potentially explore a different formula for Fofana, including the possibility of a player exchange, although no concrete agreement has been reported at this stage.
“The last 15 days of the transfer window could be useful for Juventus to seize an opportunity. Juventus, and particularly their directors, like Fofana, who is outside Milan’s squad list.

Today Juventus have many midfielders, and we have spoken about players such as Kessié and Goretzka, but the Bianconeri have not made a move because they need to sell first.
“Should Juventus decide to push for Fofana, they would still need to make a sale. But perhaps the directors of the two clubs could come up with an idea, maybe a swap deal, or there could be an exit in the final 15 days. So, we keep Fofana in the drawer among Juventus’ ideas.”
For now, Fofana remains a name to watch rather than an imminent Juventus signing, but the situation could change quickly if the Bianconeri manage to complete a midfield departure before the end of the transfer window.
