Italian sports daily Tuttosport focused today on Juventus’ transfer activity, dedicating its front-page headline to the ongoing negotiations for Jean-Philippe Mateta.

The newspaper chose the striking title “Two Million Away from Mateta”, highlighting how close the Bianconeri are to reaching an agreement with Crystal Palace.

Juventus Close the Gap for Mateta

According to Tuttosport, Juventus have made a fresh move in talks with Crystal Palace, bringing the two clubs significantly closer to a deal.

The English side have set their asking price at €35 million for the French striker, while Juventus are working to close the remaining gap with a structured proposal. The latest offer reportedly stands at a total of €33 million, just €2 million short of Palace’s valuation.

The proposed formula reflects Juventus’ cautious but strategic approach in the market. The Turin-based club have put forward an initial €2.5 million fee for a paid loan, followed by a mandatory purchase option worth €30.5 million.

This obligation would be triggered if Juventus qualify for a European competition, ensuring that Palace receive the bulk of the fee under clearly defined sporting conditions.

A Strategic Deal with European Ambitions

As reported by Tuttosport, negotiations are progressing positively, with both parties showing greater flexibility than in previous rounds of talks.

Juventus view Mateta as a profile capable of strengthening their attacking department with physical presence, experience, and proven scoring ability. At the same time, the structure of the deal allows the club to manage financial risks while aligning the investment with on-field success.

From Crystal Palace’s perspective, the deal would still guarantee a substantial return close to their original request, especially if Juventus meet their European objectives.

This mutual alignment of interests explains why confidence is growing around the potential completion of the transfer. With only a narrow financial gap remaining, Tuttosport suggests that the Mateta deal could soon reach its final stages.

The coming days may prove decisive as Juventus push to turn negotiations into a concrete agreement and secure a key addition for their future ambitions.
