Tension is quietly growing behind the scenes at Juventus. According to reports from Tuttosport, Luciano Spalletti was far from indifferent to the recent comments made by Damien Comolli regarding the club’s season and long-term direction.
Although the French executive publicly attempted to lower the pressure and show support for the coach, significant differences remain between the two on several key issues. Those close to the situation suggest their visions for Juventus are currently far apart.

Spalletti Defends Juventus Progress
Spalletti does not consider Juventus’ season a failure — at least not from the tenth matchday onward. The Italian coach believes the team showed clear tactical improvement, individual growth from several players.
And important progress within a project that ultimately convinced the club to extend his contract two months before the end of the campaign.
Currently staying in Montaione to recharge after a demanding season, Spalletti is already preparing for a decisive summit scheduled for this weekend with Comolli, Giorgio Chiellini, and Juventus owner John Elkann.
Elkann reportedly wants unity between all factions inside the club, but the upcoming meeting could prove decisive in defining Juventus’ strategy for the rest of the transfer window — particularly for Comolli, whose work will soon come under heavier scrutiny.
Spalletti is fully aware that Juventus will likely need at least one major sale to finance the summer rebuild. However, that reality does not concern him as much as the club’s internal organization, which he reportedly feels has not developed according to his expectations.
The former Napoli coach is expected to make two major requests during the summit: stronger protection around the technical staff from outside interference, and full involvement in every major transfer decision regarding the squad for next season.

Tognozzi Emerges as Key Name
One figure Spalletti would reportedly welcome back is Matteo Tognozzi, the highly respected talent scout who previously played a major role in Juventus’ recruitment structure.
Tognozzi earned enormous praise during his previous spell in Turin, helping discover and develop talents such as Dean Huijsen, Matias Soulé, Enzo Barrenechea, and especially Kenan Yildiz.
His scouting work later generated massive profits for Juventus through player sales and development. After impressing this season at Rio Ave, Tognozzi has also attracted admiration from Evangelos Marinakis, owner of Rio Ave, Nottingham Forest, and Olympiacos.
Despite his reputation, Tuttosport reports that Comolli overlooked him twice during recent restructuring decisions.
First when appointing François Modesto as technical director, and later during the process that eventually led Marco Ottolini to become Juventus’ new sporting director in January.
The final decision now rests with John Elkann, who must find common ground between Spalletti’s demands and Comolli’s broader vision for the club.

While Comolli appears convinced that Juventus are moving in the right direction, Spalletti reportedly believes several fundamental mechanisms still need fixing if the Bianconeri are to return to competing for major honors in Italy.
One thing is certain: Elkann will listen carefully. Since arriving in Turin, Spalletti has steadily earned the trust and respect of the Juventus hierarchy.
