Romano: “Jonathan David’s intention for January is…”

Forza Juventus

Speaking on his YouTube channel, Fabrizio Romano addressed the situation surrounding Jonathan David, a player who has been at the center of intense media discussion in recent weeks.

Romano referenced a light-hearted remark by Italy head coach Luciano Spalletti, who jokingly downplayed the rumors about David not being invited to Juventus team dinners.

Spalletti quipped that David had been invited once, but after putting Parmesan cheese on spaghetti with clams, he was never invited again—a joke meant to ease the tension and exaggeration surrounding the situation.

According to Romano, the narrative around Jonathan David has been overblown, both in terms of transfer rumors and media stories.

While the Canadian striker’s adaptation to Juventus has not been easy, this is understandable given the significant change in environment compared to his long spell at Lille.

David’s Intention: Staying in Turin

Romano reiterated that since the first rumors of a possible transfer emerged—including past speculation linking David to AC Milan—the player’s intention has consistently been clear: he wants to stay at Juventus.

Despite having to adapt to a different footballing culture and working under two different coaches in a short period, David believes he needs time to fully settle and show his best form.

Ultimately, it will be performances on the pitch that determine whether Jonathan David earns a long-term future at the club. However, as things stand—particularly looking ahead to the January transfer window—his desire is firmly to remain in black and white, fight for his place, and prove himself at Juventus.

While the transfer market is always unpredictable, for now Jonathan David’s plan is unequivocal: Juventus remains his priority.
