Pedulla: Juventus has found Perin’ replacment

The January goalkeeper market is beginning to take shape, with early traces pointing toward significant movement. According to Italian transfer expert Alfredo Pedulla, one scenario involves Juventus and their interest in Christos Mandas.

The 22-year-old Greek goalkeeper, currently at Lazio, finds himself as the clear backup to Ivan Provedel. Juventus have studied his profile extensively and are strong admirers.

However, Lazio president Claudio Lotito is asking for a fee exceeding €15 million plus bonuses. Any deal is contingent on Lazio first receiving the green light on their own incoming market operations.

The Domino Effect of a Departure

Mandas has attracted other proposals from Italy and abroad, and Lazio are open to cashing in. For the player, the Juventus option reportedly tops his ambitions.

This interest is directly linked to Mattia Perin’s situation. The current Juventus deputy is pushing for a return to Genoa, confirming longstanding rumors of his desire to re-join the rossoblù.

Juventus will only release Perin if they are certain of securing a high-caliber replacement—a move that goes far beyond a simple swap involving veteran keeper Nicola Leali.

Intriguingly, Lazio could then turn to Leali as their new deputy for Provedel. We remain in the embryonic stages of this potential goalkeeper carousel, but the contacts have been made and the appreciation is mutual.

Updates are expected soon as the January window approaches.
