Aston Villa are reportedly weighing up a permanent move for Brazilian midfielder Douglas Luiz, who is currently on loan from Juventus.

After a difficult spell in Turin, the 1998-born player appears to have rediscovered his best form in Birmingham, becoming an increasingly influential figure in the squad.

According to TuttoMercatoWeb, Villa’s decision to secure Luiz on a permanent basis will depend on two key factors. The first revolves around the future of head coach Unai Emery, who is said to hold the midfielder in high regard.

Emery’s tactical system has allowed Luiz to regain confidence and showcase his technical qualities, making him a valuable component of Villa’s midfield structure.

Conditions Behind the Potential Deal

The second condition concerns Aston Villa’s sporting ambitions. Qualification for the next edition of the UEFA Champions League is considered crucial.

Participation in Europe’s elite competition would not only boost the club’s prestige but also provide the financial flexibility needed to finalize the transfer.

Juventus, meanwhile, are closely monitoring developments. The Italian giants are open to selling Luiz, especially given the potential financial benefits.

The proposed deal is believed to be worth around €25 million, with an additional €3.5 million in performance-related bonuses.

Notably, the payment structure would be spread across three financial years, making the operation more manageable for Aston Villa.

A Revival in the Premier League

Luiz’s resurgence in the Premier League has not gone unnoticed. His composure on the ball, improved defensive contributions, and ability to dictate tempo have all contributed to Villa’s strong performances this season.

What once seemed like a challenging chapter in Italy is now being rewritten into a story of revival in England.

As the season progresses, all eyes will be on Villa’s league position and Emery’s future. Both elements will ultimately determine whether Douglas Luiz’s stay in Birmingham becomes a long-term commitment or remains a successful, yet temporary, chapter.
