Zaniolo to Juventus, his agent speak

Next Wednesday, July 1st, he will officially become a player owned by Udinese, which will exercise the buyout option to purchase him from Galatasaray for €5 million, after the €2.5 million already invested to bring him back to Italy on a paid loan deal.

The following day, Thursday, July 2nd, Zaniolo will turn 27. While blowing out the candles on his cake, one wonders whether he will make a wish for a new team to play for. In fact, his stay in Udine is not so certain, as no agreement has yet been reached regarding his salary.

Zaniolo’ agent speak about the future

His agent Claudio Vigorelli explained some time ago: “We are certainly happy with the impact Nicolò has had in Udine and with a very positive season, but now it will be necessary to reach a new agreement on his salary so that his stay can truly be based on solid foundations.”

“The situation that brought Nicolò to Udine last summer was characterized by a race against time in the final minutes of the transfer window, and consequently the contractual terms of Nicolò’s salary, in the event of a permanent purchase, did not reflect his real value.”

“However, together with Udinese we chose to sign and close the deal with the promise to sit down, before the buyout option was exercised, and agree on new terms. In recent days we have had intensive talks with Udinese to find a balance on the figures, but despite efforts from both sides, an agreement has not yet been reached.”

“From a sporting point of view, the marriage between Zaniolo and Udinese worked very well last season, and the player is loved by the fans. Today Nicolò feels bitter and disappointed with the situation that led to this buyout, but we remain awaiting a meeting with Udinese to clarify positions, in the hope of reaching an agreement that satisfies both parties.”

Vigorelli himself later added: “Any moment could be the right one to find a solution, but under the current conditions it is impossible to imagine staying where there is no satisfactory agreement.”

An official meeting is therefore scheduled between the parties to try to reach a new understanding. In this last season, marked by 6 goals and as many assists, Udinese paid Zaniolo a net salary of €1.8 million: a figure that already makes him the highest-paid player in the Friulian team.

According to some reports, the current demand is around €3 million net per year.

Udinese set the price for his exit

In case of a breakdown in talks, Udinese would ask for at least €15 million to sell Zaniolo’s transfer rights, also because Galatasaray holds 50% of any future resale.

Zaniolo delivered some of his best performances in an Udinese shirt precisely against the clubs now said to be interested in him: Juventus, Milan and Lazio reports Calciomercato.

A twist of fate, all destinations that would feel like revenge against his first two Serie A clubs: Inter and Roma.
