Juventus have officially confirmed the appointment of Damien Comolli as their new General Manager. The French executive brings a wealth of experience from across Europe, particularly in talent identification and football operations.

With Juventus aiming to rebuild both on and off the pitch, Comolli’s arrival signals a clear intention to modernize the club’s management structure and embrace a more data-driven approach to success.

Comolli began his journey in football at AS Monaco, where he transitioned from youth player to youth coach. His early exposure to top-level management came under Arsène Wenger, with whom he later reunited at Arsenal in 1996.

During his seven-year spell as a European scout, Arsenal clinched three Premier League titles, including the legendary 2003–04 unbeaten season. Comolli is credited with scouting and securing players like Kolo Touré, Emmanuel Eboué, and Gaël Clichy — all of whom played key roles in Arsenal’s success.

His eye for talent was again evident during his time at Tottenham Hotspur, where he oversaw the arrivals of Luka Modrić, Dimitar Berbatov, and Benoît Assou-Ekotto.

Though some signings drew criticism, Modrić’s eventual transformation into a Ballon d’Or winner validated Comolli’s long-term vision.

He carried this scouting philosophy to Liverpool in 2010, orchestrating high-profile signings such as Luis Suárez and Andy Carroll in a whirlwind January transfer window.

Following mixed spells at Saint-Étienne and Galatasaray, Comolli re-emerged with Toulouse FC, where his leadership was instrumental in the club’s Ligue 2 title win and Coupe de France triumph in 2023.

Under his presidency, Toulouse not only achieved European qualification but also became known for their data-driven operations — a hallmark of Comolli’s strategic style.

Now, at Juventus, Comolli steps into a club in transition. Backed by RedBird Capital’s endorsement and reportedly recommended by Moneyball icon Billy Beane, his task is clear: reshape Juventus with a long-term vision, blending traditional football expertise with modern analytics to restore the club’s competitive edge.
