When Dusan Vlahovic joined Juventus FC during the 2022 winter transfer window, expectations were enormous.

The Italian club invested around €85 million to secure one of Europe’s most highly rated young strikers after his explosive spell at ACF Fiorentina, where he scored 41 goals across a season and a half.

At the time, many viewed him as a future superstar capable of competing with names like Erling Haaland among football’s elite forwards.

However, the story in Turin has not unfolded as many predicted. While the Serbian striker has still delivered respectable numbers — netting 65 goals in 165 appearances for Juventus — his overall impact has gradually declined.

Injuries have also disrupted his current campaign, limiting him to only 20 matches and seven goals so far this season.

According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, Vlahovic has now decided against accepting Juventus’ proposed contract renewal. His current deal expires in June, meaning the striker could soon become one of the most attractive free agents on the European market.

Barcelona and Bayern Munich Among Interested Clubs

The report states that FC Barcelona and FC Bayern Munich are both closely monitoring the situation. Vlahovic is reportedly eager to join another top European side, even if it means initially accepting a reduced role within the squad.

At Bayern, the Serbian understands that Harry Kane remains the undisputed first-choice striker. Meanwhile, Barcelona’s situation could depend heavily on the future of Robert Lewandowski.

Should the veteran forward depart or reduce his role, an opportunity may open for a new attacking option at Camp Nou. Despite the growing speculation, reports in Spain suggest Vlahovic is not currently Barcelona’s top attacking target.

Still, the possibility of signing a proven striker without a transfer fee makes him an option difficult for Europe’s biggest clubs to ignore.
