Two clubs strongly on Conceição

Francisco Conceição is no longer considered untouchable at Juventus. While the Portuguese winger remains one of the team’s standout performers, the growing competition within Luciano Spalletti’s squad means he can no longer take his starting position for granted.

According to Calciomercato, several factors have contributed to this change, including Nico González’s return, the Argentine’s growing importance to the team, and Kerim Alajbegovic’s impressive performances.

Juventus also have Edon Zhegrova, who recently boosted his confidence with a brace against Sassuolo, while Kenan Yıldız and Jeremie Boga are expected to return from injury.

Conceição Must Improve His Goalscoring Numbers

The 2002-born former Porto player remains one of Juventus’ key strengths under Spalletti. However, the increased competition means he must continue earning his playing time through consistent performances and, most importantly, goals.

Goalscoring has been a significant weakness for Conceição since joining Juventus. He recorded seven goals in 40 appearances during the 2024–25 season, followed by just four goals in 42 appearances in 2025–26.

This season, the Portuguese international has yet to find the net in five matches, although he has hit the post on two occasions.

With several of his teammates offering a greater goalscoring threat, Conceição needs to become more effective in front of goal, potentially beginning in the upcoming matches.

The winger can also make a difference through assists, but there is room for improvement in this area as well. Conceição frequently beats his opponent with a dribble before slowing down and attempting another one.

That extra touch can give defenders time to reorganize and mark his teammates, whereas delivering a cross immediately after the first dribble could create more dangerous opportunities.

Premier League Interest Adds Another Dimension

Conceição’s situation is also being closely observed by the transfer market. Several Premier League clubs, including Liverpool and Manchester United, are reportedly interested in the winger.

The Portuguese player is under contract with Juventus until 2030 and earns €3.8 million net per season. The club signed him permanently in 2025 after his initial loan spell, investing €30.4 million in the deal.

After one year, €6.8 million had been amortized, with another €6.8 million scheduled for the current season.

As a result, Juventus would reportedly need to demand at least €16.8 million to generate a capital gain if they decided to sell Conceição in 2027.

That figure is significantly below the player’s perceived value, which Juventus reportedly places at around €40 million.
