According to Gianluca Di Marzio, Juventus’ pursuit of a new striker is proving more complicated than expected, especially when it comes to Mauro Icardi.
Writing on X, the Sky Sport journalist explained that Galatasaray are currently unwilling to let the Argentine forward leave, despite interest from the Italian giants as the transfer window approaches its final hours.

Di Marzio reported that the Turkish club’s management is not open to negotiations at this stage, making it difficult for Juventus to make progress.
“At the moment, Galatasaray’s board is not inclined to open the door to Icardi’s departure,” Di Marzio wrote, adding that it remains to be seen whether Juventus will attempt one final push before the deadline.
Galatasaray Stand Firm on Icardi
Further details emerged during Sky Calcio Club, where Di Marzio provided additional insight into the situation. The signals coming from Turkey, even in the last few minutes, suggest that Galatasaray are “building a wall” around Icardi and are refusing to consider a transfer with just one day left in the market.
This stance remains firm despite the fact that Icardi has only six months left on his contract. Juventus, for their part, are reportedly ready to offer the striker an 18-month deal, a proposal that appealed to the player.
Di Marzio revealed that Icardi, through his agents, has spoken directly with Galatasaray’s president, general manager, and CEO to explore whether this move could represent an important opportunity for his career.
The former Inter captain has been eager to return to Italy for some time, viewing Juventus as the ideal destination.

Juventus Explore Alternative Options
However, as things stand, Galatasaray have given no indication of opening negotiations, leaving Juventus to assess alternative strategies.
According to Gianluca Di Marzio, the Bianconeri continue to apply pressure on other fronts, particularly regarding Randal Kolo Muani.
Juventus are in contact with Tottenham, who have yet to approve the early termination of Kolo Muani’s loan, a necessary step before a potential move to Turin via Paris Saint-Germain.
With time running out, Juventus must decide whether to insist on Icardi, intensify talks for Kolo Muani, or shift focus entirely as the transfer window reaches its decisive phase.
