Manchester United are actively exploring a potential swap deal with Juventus involving Rasmus Højlund. Since his £72m arrival from Atalanta in 2023, Højlund has failed to meet expectations at Old Trafford.

In 95 appearances, the Danish striker has scored just 26 goals, with only four in the Premier League last season.

Fans’ frustrations go deeper than his poor goal tally. Højlund’s inability to hold up play, link attacks, or make intelligent runs has left supporters disillusioned.

His struggles to adapt to Premier League football have made him a liability rather than a solution for Erik ten Hag’s side.

United now appear ready to cut their losses. Reports suggest they want a more reliable forward to lead the line.

Italian clubs, including Inter Milan, Roma, and AC Milan, have shown interest. AC Milan have even made preliminary contact over a possible deal.

Juventus swap proposal gains momentum

According to Tuttosport, Højlund has become part of discussions between United and Juventus, primarily during negotiations over Jadon Sancho.

Juventus are reportedly open to including Douglas Luiz in a swap deal. The Brazilian midfielder remains on United’s radar as they seek to strengthen midfield options.

Although Douglas Luiz is not viewed as a top priority at this stage, talks have not died down. Both clubs are keen to find a solution that benefits them.

Juventus are said to see this swap as a chance to solve problems in their squad while giving Højlund a fresh start in Serie A.

The Turin-based club may also offer striker Dusan Vlahovic to United, which could trigger a series of transfers on both sides. Such a deal would potentially reshape the attacking options at both clubs.

United hope to finalise moves soon to allow Ten Hag to reshape his forward line ahead of the new season.
