Flamengo right-back Wesley has emerged as one of Brazil’s most exciting young talents and his recent performances have attracted strong interest from European clubs. Both Roma and Juventus are reportedly tracking the 21-year-old, who has impressed during Flamengo’s Club World Cup campaign reports Nico Schira.

Wesley made his professional debut for Flamengo in December 2021 at just 18. Since then, he has become a consistent presence in the first team, racking up 132 appearances in all competitions.

Over the past four seasons, he has helped the club secure major honours, including the 2022 Copa Libertadores and back-to-back domestic trophies in 2024 and 2025.

Though primarily a right-back, Wesley has shown versatility. His speed and attacking instincts have also seen him feature in advanced wide roles. This tactical flexibility has made him a valuable asset and a standout in international competitions.

His standout display in Flamengo’s 3-1 win over Chelsea in the Club World Cup further solidified his reputation on the global stage.

European clubs on alert

Wesley’s performances have sparked interest beyond Italy, with Premier League and Russian clubs also reportedly monitoring the defender.

Juventus, under new manager Igor Tudor, are eager to add young depth to their squad. Meanwhile, Roma’s new boss Gian Piero Gasperini is looking to reshape his side after finishing sixth in Serie A last season.

Despite the growing interest, Wesley remains focused on his current club. He recently spoke about his ambition to play in Europe, stating it is a dream he hopes to achieve. However, he emphasized his current commitment to Flamengo and their Club World Cup ambitions.

With three years remaining on his contract, Flamengo are not rushing to sell. Nonetheless, offers in the region of $30 million could tempt the Brazilian side. As the summer transfer window heats up, Wesley’s future remains one of the most intriguing storylines to watch.
