Aymeric Laporte has become the center of a growing transfer battle. According to Calciomercato, Juventus have made a strong move in recent hours, preparing a formal offer to bring the Spanish international back to Europe.

The 30-year-old currently plays for Al-Nassr, with a contract running until 2026. Juventus is reportedly ready to offer a three-year deal worth €15 million, paying Laporte around €5 million net per season.

The Italian club is also preparing a €10 million transfer fee for Al-Nassr to close the deal quickly. Their goal is to reinforce a defense that lacked consistency last season.

Bilbao strong battle with Juventus for Aymeric Laporte

Athletic Club has long dreamed of Laporte’s return. The Basque club sees him as a crucial figure in their defense, especially with Champions League football ahead. They are reportedly willing to offer up to €15 million plus variables for the transfer.

However, they face serious financial challenges. Laporte’s salary in Saudi Arabia exceeds €25 million gross annually, a figure far beyond Athletic’s budget. The club would need him to accept a sharp pay cut — a difficult ask given Juventus’ more competitive offer.

Despite this, Athletic may have one advantage: emotion. Laporte’s family lives in Bilbao, and he rose through Athletic’s youth academy before moving to Manchester City. Head coach Ernesto Valverde believes Laporte would add leadership and stability to the team.

With Juventus offering more money and stronger short-term sporting appeal, Athletic must act fast. Calciomercato’s report signals Juventus’ growing determination, and they appear ready to finalize the deal.

Unless Athletic improves their offer and convinces Laporte with a long-term project and emotional appeal, the defender may return to Europe wearing black and white instead of red and white. The coming days will be decisive in this high-stakes transfer race.
