Gustavo Sá – Juventus target the Portugese rising star

According to Tuttosport, Juventus have set their sights on Gustavo Sá, the young Portuguese midfielder who is quickly making a name for himself in the Primeira Liga.

Born in 2004, Sá has become one of Famalicão’s standout performers, showing maturity and skill beyond his years. With his socks rolled down, quick movement, and superb vision, he embodies the classic creative midfielder — dynamic, composed, and technically refined.

The 20-year-old has taken on a leadership role at Famalicão, wearing the captain’s armband several times this season. His strong physical presence (standing 1.89 meters tall) allows him to dominate midfield duels, while his precision passing helps unlock tight defenses.

Just yesterday, he found the net from the penalty spot during Portugal U21’s emphatic win over Gibraltar, adding another highlight to his growing résumé.

A versatile midfield option for the Bianconeri

Sá’s versatility is one of his greatest assets. He can play as an attacking midfielder, operate deeper as a playmaker, or drive forward as a box-to-box mezzala. In 43 appearances for Famalicão, he has already scored six goals, proving he can contribute both creatively and offensively.

Juventus are currently looking for a midfielder capable of covering multiple roles. With Bremer’s recent injury potentially forcing McKennie into a wider position, the club may need a flexible option to support the Locatelli-Thuram pairing. Sá could fit that role perfectly.

His contract with Famalicão runs until 2029, but club president Miguel Ribeiro has reportedly acknowledged that Sá’s departure in the next transfer windows is likely.

Besides Juventus, Manchester City have also expressed strong interest. However, a transfer fee of around €15 million seems manageable for the Bianconeri, especially if Famalicão agree to a loan with an option to buy — a structure Juventus have successfully used before with young Portuguese talents like Francisco Conceição and Renato Veiga.

For now, Juventus’ priority remains Sergej Milinković-Savić, a more experienced option who could bring immediate leadership to the dressing room.

Still, if talks with Al-Hilal stall, Sá could emerge as a realistic and exciting alternative. The player himself has previously expressed admiration for Juventus, admitting last year that wearing the black-and-white shirt would be a dream come true.

At just 20, Gustavo Sá might soon find that dream within reach.
