Battle Juventus vs City for Bayern goalkepper

The future of Alexander Nübel appears increasingly uncertain as both FC Bayern Munich and VfB Stuttgart prepare to move forward without the German goalkeeper in their long-term plans.

According to Sport BILD, the shot-stopper has already attracted interest from European giants Manchester City and Juventus FC ahead of the summer transfer window.

After spending the last three seasons on loan at Stuttgart, Nübel is once again searching for stability in his career.

Bayern Munich continue to place their confidence in veteran goalkeeper Manuel Neuer alongside rising talent Jonas Urbig, leaving little room for Nübel to reclaim a place in the Bavarian squad.

Salary Could Complicate Negotiations for Alexander Nübel

As reported by Sport BILD, representatives from both Manchester City and Juventus have already made contact with the player’s camp to explore a potential transfer.

However, the biggest obstacle in negotiations is believed to be the goalkeeper’s current salary, which reportedly stands at around €11 million per season.

That figure could prove difficult for Juventus to match, especially after missing out on qualification for next season’s UEFA Champions League. The Italian side are expected to approach the market cautiously, prioritising financially sustainable deals during the upcoming window.

Manchester City, meanwhile, are in a far stronger economic position. The Premier League champions previously invested heavily in their goalkeeping department and would have little trouble covering both the transfer fee and wages if they decide to push forward seriously.

Bayern Open to Shared Salary Solution

Bayern Munich are reportedly aware that Nübel’s wages could discourage interested clubs. Because of this, the German champions may be willing to cover part of his salary in order to facilitate a permanent move.

Despite that flexibility, Bayern are not expected to lower their valuation of the player, which currently sits between €10 million and €15 million.

For Manchester City, that fee would represent a relatively minor investment, while for Juventus it could still require careful consideration.

With several weeks remaining before the transfer market officially heats up, Nübel’s future remains one of the situations to closely monitor this summer.
