Juventus have reportedly joined the race for Gustavo Varela after the young Monza striker continued his remarkable start to the season, attracting interest from several top clubs in Italy and the Premier League.
The Portuguese forward was once again on target during Monza’s defeat away to Torino, scoring with a delicate chip over goalkeeper Perri.

Despite his team’s loss, Varela continued to demonstrate why he is quickly emerging as one of the most exciting young attacking talents in Italian football.
According to Calciomercato, Juventus sent a scout to Friday evening’s clash between Torino and Monza to monitor the 2005-born striker, who has made an extraordinary impact since arriving in Italy.
Varela’s Incredible Goalscoring Record
Varela’s numbers speak for themselves. The former Benfica youngster has scored nine goals in just eight appearances across Serie A and the Coppa Italia, giving him a better goals-per-game ratio than most established forwards.
His latest strike also brought him level with Raimondo on seven goals at the top of the league’s goalscoring charts, underlining the consistency of his performances.
Making such an impression during his first season in Italian football has inevitably attracted attention from some of the country’s biggest clubs.
Juventus are now among those monitoring his progress, while Napoli and Inter have also shown interest. Inter sporting director Dario Baccin reportedly watched the striker in action at Monza’s Brianteo stadium recently.

Monza Set €20M Valuation for Their Rising Star
Monza secured Varela for an initial fee of €3.5 million, with Benfica also retaining a 20% sell-on clause. The striker signed a contract running until 2030, but his rapid development has dramatically increased his market value.
His current valuation is reportedly around €20 million, and that figure could rise further if he maintains his outstanding form in the coming months.
Monza are determined to keep hold of their prized asset during the January transfer window, with the possibility of selling him next summer offering a more attractive financial opportunity.
For Juventus, Varela represents a potential long-term investment in a young striker whose performances are already turning heads across Europe. However, with several major clubs monitoring his progress, competition for his signature could intensify if he continues scoring at his current rate.
