Two names on short-list to replace Grabara

Juventus have been dealt a major blow with the serious injury suffered by Kamil Grabara, leaving the Bianconeri facing an unexpected problem between the posts.

The Polish goalkeeper had only recently begun to carve out an important role in Luciano Spalletti’s plans. His debut against NEC Nijmegen had offered plenty of encouragement, with Grabara showing confidence between the posts while also contributing positively during Juventus’ build-up play.

However, that promising start has now been abruptly interrupted. Grabara is expected to be sidelined for several months, forcing Juventus to act quickly as they prepare for a demanding period of the season.

Juventus Explore Two Experienced Options

With the goalkeeper department suddenly needing reinforcement, sporting director Giovanni Carnevali and the Juventus management have started exploring the free-agent market for an experienced replacement.

According to Gianluca Di Marzio, Juventus are currently considering two names: Sergio Rico and Neto.

Neto would represent a familiar option for the Bianconeri. The Brazilian spent several seasons at Juventus as Gianluigi Buffon’s deputy, meaning he already knows the club, its environment and the expectations that come with playing for Juventus.

Sergio Rico, meanwhile, brings considerable experience at the highest level and most recently played in Qatar. His experience could make him an attractive short-term solution for Spalletti’s squad.

Juventus are now expected to assess both possibilities carefully before deciding whether to make a move.

With Grabara facing a lengthy absence, the Bianconeri will have to determine which profile can provide the necessary experience and reliability during the goalkeeper’s recovery.
